- Oventic: Zapatista ejidos is a village in the Chiapas highlands about an hour north of San Cristóbal de las Casas

- San Juan Chamula: This village is particularly renowned for its adherence to ancient traditions. Shamanism and other forms of “folk medicine” are widely practised by its inhabitants. Meanwhile, spirits are said to occupy the forests and mountains around the town. This town is located to the northwest of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
